Elemental Home Technologies is a custom integration firm based in Stoughton, just southeast of Madison, led by president David Gerard since 2017. Much of the company’s work comes from repeat clients and referrals, and the team is built for larger, whole-home projects: automation, lighting, theaters and listening rooms designed, installed and programmed by the same people. The focus is on systems that everyone in the house can use, whether they love technology or would rather never think about it.

The Challenge
A representative Elemental project: a newly built home in the Madison area, planned for long Wisconsin winters. The owners wanted a family media room for game days, a separate space for serious music listening, and lighting that was simple for everyone in the house.
The Solution
Elemental designed, installed and programmed the whole system in-house: home automation with one simple interface, a home theater with comfortable seating and balanced sound, a matched two-channel hi-fi setup in the listening room, and lighting control set to the family’s routines.
The Result
On a snowy Sunday the whole family gathers in the media room with one tap, while the listening room stays ready for a quiet evening with records. The system is easy enough for everyone to use, and the same team supports it as the family’s needs change.
